Pom-Pom Caterpillar

So I saw Pom-Poms at the store the other day and I just knew they would be great for the boys to play with. It wasn't till I got home that I came up with just what to do with them tho.

Pom-Pom Caterpillars are so easy to make and cheap too.

What you will need.
A leaf print out ( Just google till you find one you like.
Pom-Poms
Glue
Googly eyes
Marker, color pencil, crayon, just something to color with
What to do.
Once you have got the leaf you wanted and printed it out
have the kids color them. Both Eli and Ray used markers.
Then I had the boys choose what pom-poms they wanted to use.
After we got 6 big pom-poms out I put glue on the paper and let the
boys put the pom-poms on top in the order they wanted. After we got the
big pom-poms on we took 4 little ones and made antennas with them. Then
comes the eyes and mouth.. That's it :) The one Eli and I made we sent to
Joshua in a care package so he could see it. :)

Sorry I don't remember what site I got mine from.

This is Eli's leaf.

Yes he tried eating it.

This is Ray :)

He wanted a smile and nose

How to make homemade colored sand

This is so much cheaper then buying already colored sand but it does take some work.

What you will need
Play Sand ( I got a 50lb bag at Lowe's for under $4.00
Food Coloring
Water
Spoon
Bowl
Plastic Baggy

                                                                         What to do.

I wanted the same amount of sand in each color.

1. Put the amount of sand you wish to dye the first color into a bowl.

2. Wet the sand but not enough to soak it just make it damp all around.

3. Put some food coloring onto the sand.

4. Mix it in. you will want to kind of push down with the spoon and drag it to really get the color mixed in.

5. Add more food coloring if you want a brighter shade. When this dries it's a lot lighter so make it dark.

6. Bag it up and let it dry.

All done.

You use colored sand for so many things.

1. Sensory Bins
2.. Sand Art
and many more things you can get a lot of ideas by looking it up online. I'll be sharing what we use ours for..

Colored Cotton Ball Play

I got these colored cotton balls for a different reason but Eli wanted to play with them so I thought " Why not  make it into a learning play thing" I gave him a empty container with a lid that pops open. Then I showed him how to put the balls into the hole in the lid. He caught on quickly and sat on the floor playing with these for over 30 mins.

He was so into this haha

These do come in different sizes but for safety I only let him play with the really big ones. The pack has small med. and large.

Please if you have a child who put everything into their mouth feel free to change this to something safe to eat.

Melted Gummy Bears

I have no idea why I tried this. It didn't do much other then bubble while it was heating.
It was easy to clean up but trying to eat it was something different I don't suggest doing this.. I really love watching marshmallows when you heat them up but this just stunk

You  can kind of see how it bubbled here.
